Student Council Officers
President - must be an 8th grader and have at least one full year of previous CMS Student Council Experience. The President presides over all meetings and works with the other officers to create a positive culture at CMS. The President meets with Administration to keep them up to date on all plans for the SC.
Vice President - must be an 8th or 7th grader and have at least one full year of previous CMS Student Council Experience. The VP works with the President - assisting with all meetings. They help with the attendance and discussion during the meeting. Also goes with the President to meet with the Administration.
Secretary - 6th, 7th or 8th grader - must be proficient with google docs, forms and sheets. The Secretary takes all the minutes during meetings and makes the agendas for all meetings prior to the meeting.
Treasurer - 6th, 7th or 8th grader - must be good at money/math, proficient with google sheets and very organized. They keep tabs on all spending and budgeting for the Student Council.
Application for the offices of Student Council are due by October 25 - with the election being on OCTOBER 29TH.
Once you have submitted this application - Mrs. P will review it and then send you an email allowing you to put up posters publicizing your candidacy for the office. Please make them free of spelling errors and neat and clean. They may be placed above drinking fountains on the gray bricks. They may also be placed on the glass of the trophy case in the gym hallway.
Please check with Mrs. P for the correct tape to use.
